This tool scans the RAW file's binary data for JPEG start (FF D8 FF) and end (FF D9) markers, then extracts the largest JPEG found. No demosaic or RAW decoding is performed — it simply pulls out what the camera already put in.
Yes. The extracted JPEG is the same file your camera embedded — it is the camera's own fully processed, full-resolution preview. It has not been re-encoded or compressed by this tool.
Yes. Choose JPEG, PNG, or TIFF as the output format. JPEG keeps the camera's original bytes untouched at full size (zero re-encode, EXIF preserved); PNG and TIFF re-encode the extracted preview to a lossless container.
